What started as me just wanting to add some ~zest~ to my college apartment's living room quickly grew into a true passion project!
After designing four posters for my roommates and I, I decided that they were too cool not to share on social media. There was no way I could've predicted what happened after I hit publish. I was met with +65 DMs in my inbox, over 110K views, +17K likes, and an idea. I recognized that there were college girls across the nation who were wanting custom room decor that reflected their personality and highlighted their friendships. And so, a business was born!
After receiving photos and any information regarding favorite colors, inside jokes, potential doodle ideas, etc from customers, I start designing!
I utilize Adobe Photoshop to format photos in a collage, create cutouts, and alter photos so they have a consistent color scheme. After that, it's to the iPad it goes. Using Procreate, I then do all hand drawn text and illustrations. I try my absolute best to utilize the clients' information they provide to create a product they'll love!
Every poster is so different, which makes it so fun. I love getting to make something wonderful for people around the country. It is so cool to think how far my art has reached and how much happiness it's bringing.
During the Summer of 2022, I broadened my offerings to include designs that pay homage to collegetown and hometown hotspots.
These designs helped me develop my skills in Adobe Illustrator significantly. I utilize reference photos to then create the buildings or objects using the pen tool. Lastly, customers usually order multiple posters at a time, so I make sure the order contains a cohesive color scheme.
