My creative portfolio class had the pleasure to collaborate with Manhattan Mini Storage, a storage unit company from New York. The client brief asked for billboard ideas that pushed boundaries and matched their established edgy voice. The class was divided into groups of two: one person working as Art director and the other as Copywriter. In the end, the company would select one idea to produce in New York and the winning pair would receive a generous monetary reward.

After multiple rounds of rough drafts and class critiques, my copywriter partner Hunter Bickel and I settled on four ideas that we were passionate about and eager to share with the client. We prepared a presentation that showcased our work and thought process. After patiently waiting for the final decision, we were delighted to find out Hunter and I's billboard was selected. I am so excited to see my work produced in real life on such a large scale. The opportunity is truly an honor!

Our approach to this idea was being creative with physical space. We figured the expected approach would be to design for a traditional-sized billboard. So in an attempt to think outside the box and go against the grain, we drafted an idea for a three tier billboard that Manhattan Mini Storage currently utilizes. Because of its unique layout, we wanted to directly address that in our copy. The final result was simple, yet effective.
